ADBWC holds a celebration on the International Women's Day 2017
The Abu Dhabi Business Women Council (ADBWC), an affiliate to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the International Business Women's Group (IBWG), held a celebration on the International Women's Day 2017 at the Chamber’s tower in Abu Dhabi.
Her Excellency Maryam Mohammed Al-Rumaithi, Chairwoman of the Emirates Business Women Council and Chairperson of the Executive Board of the ADBWC, attended the celebration along with a number of Board Members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber and the Executive Board of the ADBWC and a number of authorities and international corporations. More than 200 women from public and private companies in the UAE attended the celebration as well.
Al-Rumaithi said at the beginning of the celebration that women in the economic sector achieved many accomplishments whether in the UAE or elsewhere in the world. She pointed out that women, economically, have become one of the hard figures on the economic business map in general. “The wise leadership of the UAE opened up many opportunities for women and paved the way for her to succeed. Emirati women assumed a distinguished place and have become important economic competitors in the business and money world,” she said.
Al-Rumaithi added that would not have been achieved if not for the real support of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; and the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses the rulers of the Emirates. She said that they provided Emirati woman with all the means to empower her and to allow her to occupy her position to play a role in the development of the UAE.
She stated that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak “Mother of the Nation”, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Honorary Chairwoman of the ADBWC, had a great role in empowering Emirati woman in all sectors and fields in addition to support women across the globe in general.
On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, the Council also organized an exhibition for Mubdiaa projects in Abu Dhabi. This comes within the efforts of the Council to inform of the projects of women entrepreneurs and Mubdiaa license holders.
The exhibition included 25 stands for Mubdiaa licenses that work in production and marketing of fragrances, handicrafts, and wrapping and marketing dates as well as suing women’s and kids’ clothes. A number of specialized medical centers, which offer medical services for women in Abu Dhabi, participated in the exhibition.
